STAGECRAFT WORKSHOP DANIEL JANETTO (FRANCE)

THE VII ANNUAL MEYERHOLD MEETINGS FESTIVAL

The Meyerhold Centre
presents
With the support of the French Embassy and the French Institute in Russia

October 29, 30, 31

The movement and words – their existence and opposition became the interesting point of  The Annual Meyerhold Meetings festival, which is going on for the seventh time.
But the space has also its importance; it’s where they discover themselves. The Meyerhold centre with the help of the French Ambassy and the French institute invited a well-known scene-designer Daniel Janetto (France) to lead a workshop and to share his knowledge and thoughts with young professionals. Three days non-stop will be conducted on an argument over a dramatic text and investiture of words into an artistic way and the story of its first appearance in the real world.

Daniel Janneto is the director of Vitry’s studio-theatre. He was born in 1963. After having his literature degree, he got in a prestigious art decorative university in Strasbourg. In 1987 he started working in Strasbourg’s National Theatre where his artistic union happened with the producer Claude Regy. During a few years they created together productions on modern and classic texts (╠Órgaret Durace, Jean Genet, └melie Nothomb, Maurice Meterlink, Jean Racine, Jon Fosse). In 2000 they will once again work together on three shows, one of the shortest text “Shepherd” based on Fernando Pessoa’s poem, was given the price of the association of critics. In 2007, after a small break, Daniel Janetto comes back to the theatre with the setting of Sara Kane’s comedy «Blasted», after which he dips into a joint experiment with the producer Marie-Christine Soma – a classic musical of Eugene Labiche.
